Initially drawn to yoga in 1994 for relief from back pain following a childhood horseback riding injury, Eve has grown to view it as an exploration of life and what it is to be a human being. She is a graduate of the two-year teacher-training program at the Iyengar Institute of New York, where she now teaches, and a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher at the Intermediate Junior 2 level. Eve is also co-owner of Samamkaya Yoga Back Care & Scoliosis Collective, and founder of The Nerve of Expression, a community project offering yoga to artists with multiple sclerosis. Since 2006, she has made five extended trips to Pune, India to study and assist in the medical classes at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Institute. Eve strives to communicate the possibility of being effortful without aggression- of embodying the depth of ourselves without strain. You can learn more about Eve at evesyogaspace.com.

Introductory Series for English Speakers
This class is specifically designed for people new to yoga.
Iyengar Yoga has roots deep in the classic Yoga tradition. It teaches stability, strength, mobility, concentration and balance in body and mind. Emphasis is placed on performing the poses in a correct and responsible way, with the aid of props when necessary, so that everyone, no matter how flexible you are, can do it and get the best results.
We will build a solid and healthy foundation with standing poses. Seated poses, inversions, and supine breath work will be introduced to quiet the thoughts, restore energy, and develop a calm, collected mind.
Both general and individual instruction will be given.
